CABLE RAINCOAT CO. A-2
JACKET-FLYING, TYPE A-2
A.C. ORDER NO. 42-10008-P
This jacket is based on the AC Order No-42-10008-P by Cable Raincoat of Boston, Mass.
Originals appear to have been made in both Goatskin as well as Horsehide. Most often with mid-brown cotton thread, but some extant examples do have OD#3 thread.
The pattern is one of the most comfortable fitting jackets from WWII, with large wide shoulders, large arm holes, roomy arms, and a roomy body. It's not a baggy pattern, but looks very sharp. Cable seems to have made this pattern quite generous in the arm length and as such can be a very comfortable pattern for driving and not having the sleeves run up your arm.
